I have been blogging for a couple of years, 7 to be exact. I write about almost anything, mostly funny experiences in my daily life when I didn't have kids yet. When I became a mother, I wrote more about my joys as I embrace the most wonderful gift ever given to me - my children. In 2009, my beloved father died. I stopped writing for a couple of months. I even stopped doing photography which was then my fascination. All of a sudden, I just didn't know what to post. I was happy and sad at the same time.
Then one day, I just started everything back like I never stopped. I even posted old blogs I just wrote on scratch papers. I miss my Dad but I am happy again - sometimes a bit sad when I think of him but the air I breathe which smells of my little children overcomes any tinge of sadness.
And so I have been posting mostly anything I fancy. Food, my travels, news, people and of course my children.
But today I will have a unique post. I will seek help from friends, relatives, classmates, and readers who frequent my blog (hey, I hope there are a lot!). It's not for me, but for a stranger. which makes this post very special.
I received a comment requesting for blood donation for a father who is sick with colon cancer. And because I have been in the same shoe myself, asking people even strangers for blood, I just couldn't pass up the chance to pay forward the good deed we received when we were in need.
And so I am asking you if you are able to donate blood, type O+, please proceed to the Philippine General Hospital Cancer Institute. Patient's name is Sixto Racelis at Bed No. 8.
The family are not asking for money. Only blood and prayers.
They say that we don't know when a good opportunity will come knocking and sometimes it knocks very very softly. Well, this is an opportunity to help (it's banging your door loudly!) - and I hope someone will heed and open their door.
Here's some FAQ on blood donation from the Philippine Red Cross.
